Mairen on the Couch-desktop (Video Link)
This video speaks for itself. Too cute!
Silly Mommy forgot to turn the camera to landscape… live and learn!
First Day Out
Mairen took a trip to downtown Pleasanton with her Mommies, who were both in desperate need of a haircut. No haircut for Mairen, yet! She was a very good girl, and even joined Mommies at a nice Mediterranean restaurant on a cute sidewalk!
Thanks, Mairen!
Fashion Shows and Tummy Time
Well, we’ve been trying to keep busy at home since we have been sequestered away from the germs of the outside world. Mostly we’ve spent our time nursing, changing diapers, and desperately trying to get some sleep, but sometimes we’re able to have a little fun. Eight weeks can’t come quickly enough!
The Home Stretch!
We have finally made it to 35 weeks. Five to go until the due date!
Little Mairen could come any day, but hopefully not until we’ve finished our birth classes and her room!
Hopefully we’ll have baby pictures on this site before too long, so check back after she’s born!
It’s A Girl…
…we think!
While not 100% accurate, it looks like Mardley will be having a daughter! We are very happy, but we would have been happy either way. The important news is that the extensive examination report came back “normal.”
As you can see, she already has a cute profile! Maybe we’re biased. What do you think?
Latest Scans
After a little scare at 10 weeks (right at the end of our little honeymoon), everything is now looking great. This is a picture from our sonogram when measurements were taken to assess our risk for chromosomal abnormalities (11 weeks). Our risk factor is considered quite low, given the measurements and blood work. While not definitive, it’s great news!
In this photo, you can see our little one is stretching out (or kicking). During this visit, the baby changed positions 180°. We definitely have an active baby!
We’re close to the 14-week mark now, and looking forward to our next scan on September 11th.
Ten Weeks!
Today we are officially ten weeks pregnant! This is a photo of our latest sonogram (taken on Tuesday). The changes are not major, but it’s fun to see little bits of growth. The baby is now 1.2 inches long from head to tail, and in this photo, you can make out the mouth, eye sockets, and some of the brain. Also, some of the digits of the left hand are discernible. Hopefully it will get cuter as the months pass.
Marce and I met our OB, and talked a bit about tests and other things that are coming up soon. Everything looks great so far!
New Sonogram
Sorry for the wait, but here it is! Our baby is now 1 inch long from crown to rump. On the live scan, we were able to see little fingers on the right hand and listen to the heartbeat – a healthy 179 beats per minute.
When the doctor went a bit close with the wand, the baby did a little jig. Our baby is a dancer already! I guess that’s a McNeill gene.
Exercising Again!
After three months of VERY restricted activity, I am finally getting back to exercise. I’m weaning it in, and I feel a little like that picture above, but it’s nice to be back in my tennies.
Our next ultrasound is scheduled for Wednesday, so check back soon for an update. Hopefully, we’ll have another lovely picture of what probably will look like a shrimp cocktail.
Love you all!
